New Series

The oh-so-cool looking bad ass to the left is a character that has been trapped inside my brain for almost ten years. Which is a long and strenuous time for anyone or anything to be around me without going insane. But if I do say so myself, Snow, the hero with magical abilities, advanced hand to hand combat and weapons training is alive and well. Soon to be kicking bad guy arse in 'Heaven's Fate' the graphic novel.

The story picks up with Snow searching for his fathers killer. I won't give away too much but let's just say I am thinking of turning this into an epic. I'm talking DBZ long, Naruto long; that's how much goes one during this story. It's been ten years in the making and I've been waiting to do this one for a while.

And if you think the protagonist is cool wait until I unveil the antagonist. I think he is my favorite character in this story.

Not to mention, there are three females that do their fair share of butt kicking and backstabbing, literally. So if you like action, adventure, fantasy and mystery stay tuned.

The Fate of the Heavens is in control of mortal men.

Shoot for the Stars

Its seems as if traveling is a natural part of the holidays. As I travel across the back roads and through the small country towns of the south, I look up at the clear, night sky with stars shinning brightly.

Seeing the large expanse and the last un-manned frontier makes you wonder. Whether you believe in a divine spirit or a theory of evolution, one cannot help but wonder about the secrets of the universe and realize that humans are but tiny and insignificant organisms with lifespans of a second compared to the cosmic wheel of time. One cannot help but wonder what is out there, especially if you have read 2001 Space Odessy by Arthur C. Clarke.

I also remember hearing that they are more stars than deceased humans on the planet earth. Humans are fragile creatures. Even though all of us cannot reach the height of an actor in life I hope that we can reach the stars in death.

Scientific Renaissance

Light travels at over 186,000 miles per hour.
A quantum computer calculates data at the atomic level.

I love science fiction.
Science, physics, chemistry, astrology, etc.

All of these disciplines are taken into account when I sit down to write a new short story or novel. But when you take into consideration what this might mean in the grand scheme of things, to me anyway, is aliens.

I believe that it is extremely arrogant of us to assume that we are the only intelligent life forms in the entire universe; which is very very large and extremely old. What does this imply for those of us who are God's children? If he created us, this world, this galaxy and everything in it... Could he not have created similar versions of us on different planets? Maybe he did, and will grant us with the technology, know how and ability to meet our distant cousins at some point. I only hope that I am alive for the day when humans make contact with extra terrestrials. The opportunity to learn from each other and exchange ideas is not something that should be scoffed at by the masses but something that should be encouraged. As humans living on a dieing rock, that we are killing; we should look forward to the day when we will have the capacity to travel at the speed of light, find the singularity in quatum mechanics and one day colonize our galaxy and other earth like planets. Hopefully when we do reach that phase of evolution, we will treat our next planet better than we have treated this one.

Writing Sci Fi

Why is that when I actually have the time to write and sit down to do so I find any excuse not to write? Whether it's twitter, facebook or going off on an irrelevant tangent of research that has nothing to do with the story I'm working on. It's almost to the point where I need to take my laptop off into the woods somewhere with no wifi and disconnect in order to get something done. But then I need to come back to the world, re-connect and start promoting myself through these various mediums that are causing so much distraction.

What will happen in the future when there are interactive 3D environments imprinted on our contact lenses and sun glasses; computer chips installed in our brains so no matter where we go, we are connected to wifi? Will the human race eventually assimilate with our technology to the point where we all have a shared consciousness? Taking youtube, facebook and twitter to the next level.

At this point in time I would like to send a shout out to Alastair Reynolds since I am reading his science fiction novel Redemption Ark which touches on some of these subjects.

Keep it Going

After walking away from a well paying full time job in a tough economy just because I felt like it might strike most people as odd. But as I travel through this big blue planet that we call home, I have come to the realization that people tend to life based on fear. Fear of the unknown, fear just for fear sake. Life is too short and if you are unhappy with your current lot in life then what are you going to do about it. Another thing I have come to realize is that despite the every day ups and downs, life goes on. Everyday we wake up and put one foot in front of the other is another chance to do something meaningful and make a step in the right direction. Whether that is towards our ultimate goal of becoming rich or just surviving; at the end of the day, we keep on moving.
